Had better
Had better means it is a good idea to do something or a problem may occur.
· I had better stop at the red light or I might have an accident.
Had better not is the negative usage.
· I had better not go through that red light. Somebody might get hurt.
You may use the words “had better” when someone is being warned about something.
· I had better learn English Grammar before class today or I will get in trouble.
